For those of you who missed this killer show because you don’t live in Western Canada, the Abrams Brothers and I are doing one Ontario show. The Abrams Brothers are virtuoso singers and pickers and who can barely grow facial hair. Come watch me sing morose songs that sound almost cheerful when they sing and play with me at the River Arts Festival in Dunnville.

Luminato – The Canadian Songbook: Ron Sexsmith

Oh Susanna is delighted to be paying tribute to the extraordinary Ron Sexsmith at this year’s Luminato The Canadian Songbook!
The March release of Sexsmith’s most recent album, Long Player Late Bloomer, was preceded by rave reviews for the documentary film, Love Shines, an exploration of his work as a songwriter. Now a glittering array of special guests join Sexsmith on stage at Massey Hall to celebrate his extraordinary contribution to the art of popular song.
The show will also feature: Matthew Barber, Barenaked Ladies, Measha Brueggergosman, Broken Social Scene’s Kevin Drew, Julie Fader, The Band’s Garth Hudson, Greg Keelor, Andy Kim, Ladies of the Canyon, Tomi Swick, Justin Hines and more.

Suzie hits the road with Matthew Barber!
Suzie is very excited to be co-headlining her June tour with Matthew Barber, who’s self-titled LP will be out on June 7. Both artists are looking forward to sharing the stage together with a tour that promises to feature many collaborations between the talented songwriters. This will be a rare treat for fans to see two of Canada’s great voices together.

Suzie & co. survived South By Southwest (barely) and had a great time playing the Outlaws & Gunslingers showcase at the Paradise Café. Special thanks to Bazil Donovan (bass), Cam Giroux (drums) and the lovely Kendel Carson (fiddle) for lending Suzie their talents for this special night. Here’s a video of Jenn Grant and Suzie at the Canadian BBQ enjoying, you guessed it, beer, bbq and boys.
While in town, Oh Susanna also dropped by the XM studio and recorded a few tunes for The Verge. Check out The Verge online for airdate times in May.
